Restoration and Beautification at the Orange County Courthouse in Virginia

The courthouse in Orange County, Virginia may seem a bit out of place. That is because, unlike its neighboring antebellum-style buildings, Orange County’s courthouse was built to resemble a classic Italian villa. Originally designed by Charles Haskins, a Washingtonian Lawyer, the historic courthouse was built in 1858. It has served the community for well over a hundred and fifty years, but in 2002 it got a new make-over courtesy of Stromberg Architectural Products, who supplied 52 feet of railing made from architectural fiberglass, or GFRP.

GFRP is Here to Stay

Although the community in Orange County did a fantastic job maintaining the courthouse over the years, wood, stone and metal can be a challenge to keep looking pristine. Railings especially can be a challenge to keep looking nice since metal railings need frequent painting to replace worn paint, and wooden railings require sanding and painting to avoid splinters. That’s where architectural fiberglass comes in. Architectural fiberglass won’t splinter, rot or rust, and it requires next to no maintenance.

Staying on Budget is Easy with Architectural Fiberglass

Not only will architectural fiberglass save you time and resources, it will also save you money when it comes to purchasing and installing railings. Architectural fiberglass is remarkably inexpensive, and it arrives on site in pre-fabricated segments that are easy to work with an install. The architectural fiberglass products that Stromberg provides are sturdy, American-made products that have already been crafted to the high standards that have put Stromberg on the map.
